The Port Wentworth Fire Department is a combination department. It has 9 full-time positions, with 6 being a 24/48 schedule. The department has 2 stations, with station 1 being headquarters. Station 1 houses a 1990 commercial medium rescue, 2008 Pierce Impel Engine, 2001 GMC 5500 mini pumper, 1992 Ford F-550 Brush truck. Station 2 houses a 1988 E-One reserve/wildland engine, 2004 Pierce Contender pumper, 1996 Ford Van command vehicle, 2000 Ford Crown Victoria. The Port Wentworth Fire Department is located within Chatham County GA, on the westside of the county. The department has approximately 22 active Volunteers. The City of Port Wentworth has approximately 5,400 citizens and the fire department serves 16.5 square miles.
